Sheriff Joe Confronts Illegal Alien Mob

This is the result of our pathetic elected officials doing NOTHING to stop the flooding of illegal immigrants into this country.

In the video you can hear the illegal immigrants yelling at Arpaio "GO HOME!"  The irony is thick.  What a sad day for America. Those who are unlawfully living in this country have no fear.

Complaint says crosses at Catholic school offensive, prevent Muslim prayers

It's hard to believe this is real.  I need to check The Onion.
“This attorney is really turning civil rights on its head,” observed Patrick Reilly of the Cardinal Newman Socity. “He’s using the law for his own discrimination against the Catholic institution and essentially saying Catholic University cannot operate according to Catholic principles.”

The complaint is absurd, writes Thomas Peters on the website CatholicVote.

“Can you imagine a law professor helping Catholic students to sue a Jewish or Muslim school to demand that the schools install crosses, remove their religious symbols, and allow the Catholics to construct a chapel on their property?” wrote Peters. “Can you imagine the argument being that Jewish and Muslims schools using their religious symbols and following their faith traditions would be described in the legal brief as “offensive”?!

“Normally I would have confidence that this lawsuit will be deemed without merit, but the way things are going these days, I just can’t be sure anymore. Simply incredible.”
I agree.  Anyway, what in the world are Muslims doing at a CATHOLIC University?

CA post Christian persecution: Stonewalling over church reminded Romanians of earlier times

Why is it we don't recognize the monster we've become?

Church members were shocked at the city's attitude and observed that it reminded them of the hostilities they experienced in Romania, which had been ruled under Communism for almost 30 years during the Cold War.

The country's most infamous leader was Nicolae Ceausescu, whose reign of terror included spying on and imprisoning churchgoers.

Dacus explains: "They recognized clear similarities of the hostility that they had experienced in Romania, being persecuted as Christians, and they were having some of the same kind of resistance to be able to have a place to worship here in the United States."
Luckily, the law firm representing the church spoke to the zoning committee and the committee voted unanimously approving the church to be built.

Court backs property rights for a change

Well, it's about time.
In Horne v. Department of Agriculture, the court ruled 8-1 in a case that sounds narrow but has broad implications. It involved a New Deal-era program designed to “maintain stable markets” for agricultural products such as raisins by forcing farmers to hand over a portion of their crop — sometimes nearly half of it — to the federal government without payment.

The court was unequivocal: “The Fifth Amendment applies to personal property as well as real property. The government has a categorical duty to pay just compensation when it takes your car, just as when it takes your home.” That’s true even if — and it’s a big “if” in this case — the program provided some general economic benefit to farmers.

When the case was being argued, one of the court’s most conservative members expressed concern about the Soviet nature of the program. “Central planning was thought to work very well in 1937,” said Justice Antonin Scalia, according to an April report in the Los Angeles Times. “Russia tried it for a long time.” Only Justice Sonia Sotomayor dissented, although other liberal-leaning justices dissented on limited parts of the ruling. (Likewise, the court’s liberals sided with the government in Kelo.)

First day on the job in the brave new world

Jason Brand could barely contain his excitement. He had been unemployed for almost two years and was overwhelmed with relief when he received the call. The pay was great. The benefits were outstanding. It was more than he could have hoped for after his layoff a couple of years ago.

He entered the front entrance and given his visitor’s pass. At that very moment the HR rep showed up as if on cue.

“Mr Brand?” she said with a big smile, shaking his hand.

“Are you Shelley Stone?” Jaason asked.

“Yes, and call me Shelley. I’ll take you up to my office. We can fill out the paper work there…” She led the way and paused briefly, turning around smiling “…and welcome to Giganticorp”

At Shelley’s office things were neat and tidy. A folder lay on her desk with Jason’s name scribbled across the front.

Shelley’s swivel chair creaked a bit as she sat in it. She opened the plain file folder and sorted through the papers.

“You’ll find the normal paperwork we require to be filled out. Employment history, proof of citizenship, copy of college degree, insurance you want.” She chuckled “you know the drill I’m sure.”

Jason smiled and nodded “Oh yes. Been there. Done that.”

Shelley pointed to a desk across the hallway “Go ahead and sit there and fill it all out. If you have any questions, feel free to come and get me.”

After about 10 minutes, Jason brought the paperwork over. “OK. It was all pretty straightforward…” he said as he shuffled through the stack “…with the exception of one…oh yeah. Here it is.” It was upside down and he twisted his hand to read it “uh…policy, compliance and acceptance… What exactly is this?”

Shelley smiled. ”Oh yes.” She waved her hand in a downward motion, brushing it off. “We get questions about that one all the time. “ She chuckled again. “All it is is that you understand the guidelines that shape the policy of this company regarding same-sex marriage, hate speech and other stuff like that.”

Jason was a little confused. “Excuse me...but I don’t understand…” He leafed through the papers some more. “…but this is more than just an explanation of the company’s guidelines.”

“Hm?” Shelley lost her smile.

“This paper here that I have to sign says that I understand the…”

“…the guidelines, yes” she completed rapidly.

“” Jason still bewildered said “The paper I have to sign says that I agree with the guidelines -”

Shelley jumped in quickly “-Yes - that you agree to abide by the guidelines. Of course.”

Jason was starting to get serious. “Shelly…uh, no. That is not what the paper is saying. It says this “I, the undersigned, do understand the guidelines and rules of conduct and personally deem them to be good rules to live by and I hereby shall comply and accept these guidelines as my own personal moral code. To do otherwise would be offensive and cause great hurt and would be deemed bullying.”

“Shelley…uh.. huh!” He ran his free hand through his hair sort of at a loss as to what to say. “I have never had a problem working with gays. Hell, my previous boss was gay. She was a brilliant person. I learned a lot from her. But I would never consider her lifestyle to be acceptable.”

“Jason…” She sighed. “We have a problem.”

“Shelley, we most certainly do. Your company is asking…no… mandating that I say “I believe the gay life style is moral.” He threw the papers down. “And it is not.”

Shelley stood up slowly. “ order for you to work here… let me rephrase that….in order for you to work anywhere you must agree to put on the mantel of morality –“

“Morality? Morality? Forget whether or not gay marriage is moral or immoral. Is it moral for a company to force employees to say I must not only agree with their morality but make it a part of my own code? You can’t be serious. This is worse than slavery. This is complete thought control!”

There was a moment of silence. “Mr. Brand, can’t you just sign the papers and say you will comply? Everyone else does.”

"Shelley…I can’t do this. I can’t. As much as I like Giganticorp – I dreamed of this job. This is utterly dismaying.”

Shelley sighed. “Jason, I know you've been out of the loop for a while since you haven’t had a job for so long, but the President had just recently issued an executive order requiring all companies to bring their employees into compliance.”

“So you’re saying the president has put on the dual robes of President and Pope? And you’re ok with that?”

Shelley straightened up. “Yes. I am”

“Well Shelley…,” He tossed the papers onto her desk. “Enjoy your servitude to your king.”

Jason Brand walked away.

THE SILENCING: Paper Will Limit Anti-Gay Marriage Op-Eds

The Left was never a big fan of freedom of speech, religion, you name it.  When will we learn?
The editorial board of PennLive/The Patriot-News in Harrisburg, Pa. is taking a hardcore stance against those who disagree with the Supreme Court ruling to legalize gay marriage.

“As a result of Friday’s ruling, PennLive/The Patriot-News will no longer accept, nor will it print, op-Eds and letters to the editor in opposition to same-sex marriage,” they declared.
How much longer are we going to take it?

California University Will Ban Soda Sales On Campus

Who is surprised?  Not me!

Under the new policy, which was decided upon in May and will be implemented in July, campus vendors will be blocked from selling all drinks with added sugar calories to the school’s 4,600 students. That means no Coca-Cola, no Dr. Pepper, and no fruit punch. Diet sodas and 100 percent juice drinks will still be tolerated, and students will be allowed to bring sugary drinks on campus if they buy them elsewhere.
A mindset of stupidity.  It is common knowledge that many fruit juices contain more sugar than sodas.

Man-Made Drought: A Guide To California's Water Wars

Wow.  It was all planned.  I'm just SHOCKED!

For decades, extreme environmentalists have pursued this goal in California with relentless determination. The method they have used to depopulate the targeted land — water deprivation — has been ruthless and effective.

Much of the media and many politicians blame the San Joaquin Valley's water shortage on drought, but that is merely an aggravating factor. From my experience representing California's agricultural heartland, I know that our water crisis is not an unfortunate natural occurrence; it is the intended result of a long-term campaign waged by radical environmentalists who resorted to political pressure as well as profuse lawsuits.
Yeah.  Screw the will of the people. Who cares  about people?  They're expendable.
