"...to move to new york city would be a dream. I miss the city
Then I told her my story from when I was in the 8th grade in :
When I was in the 8th grade I had a black friend who HATED living in the South (I grew up mainly in South Carolina in the mid to late 1960s- 1980s). All he could do was tell me about the Bronx when he was growing up and how great it was. He was going back. A couple of years later, I'm in highshool 10th grade. And there he was! I asked what he was doing back in South Carolina. And he told me how horrible it all looked. He was in shock. "Gary, it looked like bombs were dropped on the Bronx. IT was horrible. I'll never go back."
These things happen in cycles. The cycle is turning for NYC, in my opinion:
You have a new crop of Left Wing Socialists who will "punish The Man" but will inadvertantly - or not - punish those who live there.
