Boy, Dems talk a good game. But then you find out that they really HATE GAYS:
Even before the event, the administration had attempted to complicate the process by requiring the CRs to dish out an additional $1,000 in security fees on the grounds that the group was not officially affiliated with the school—a claim that was later challenged by the CRs and eventually dropped.
Notably, UCI’s event was uncharacteristically tame in comparison to other Yiannopoulos lectures, which are routinely disrupted and shut down. In this case, however, the event went on without any interruptions, even garnering the praise of local lawmakers, leading some CR members to believe the group’s suspension was more of a political play than anything else.
“We wanted his return to be a rally for young Republicans, just before the election, to invigorate and excite young conservatives to vote for the GOP. I told administration this, so it is clear that this suspension that comes during such a critical election year, is a political statement on behalf of UCI,” CR president Ariana Rowlands told Breitbart.
“They did everything they could to stop us from hosting him the first time, and now they want to make sure that we cannot host him again,” she added.

California's skyrocketing housing costs, taxes prompt exodus of residents
I am SHOCKED!!
During the 12 months ending June 30, the number of people leaving California for another state exceeded by 61,100 the number who moved here from elsewhere in the U.S., according to state Finance Department statistics. The so-called "net outward migration" was the largest since 2011, when 63,300 more people fled California than entered.
"The main factors are housing costs in many parts of the state, including coastal regions of California such as the Bay Area," said Dan Hamilton, director of economics with the Economic Forecasting Center at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
"California has seen negative outward migration to other states for 22 of the last 25 years."
A recent poll revealed that an unsettling sense of yearning has descended on people in the Bay Area: About one-third of those surveyed by the Bay Area Council say they would like to exit the nine-county region sometime soon.
"They are tired of the expense of living here. They are tired of the state of California and the endless taxes here," said Scott McElfresh, a certified moving consultant. "People are getting soaked every time they turn around."

Shale Oil Seen Stifling OPEC’s Classic Market-Balancing Role
They talk like this is a bad thing! "Market balancing role" is dogwhistle for "keeping prices way higher than people can afford."
“Just to cut production by 1.5 million barrels a day and the next day the price goes up and the other producers will take the whole share -- there is no benefit for OPEC in that,” he said.My heart bleeds....
High oil prices in recent years were an incentive for many high-cost fields to be tapped, Al-Atiyyah said. If shale oil companies were to collapse due to financial strain imposed by low prices, this might cause another crisis like the one in 2007 and 2008, as many of them owe large debts to banks, he said.
“OPEC can’t go out and fight on behalf of others,” he said. “You have one market. You don’t have an OPEC market and a non-OPEC market.”
Beliefonomics & Shale
You can have your preconceived notions on whether fracking is evil or a godsend. But even in the face of daunting low oil prices, the American Capitalist rises to the task of overcoming what seem to be almost insurmountable odds. My hats off to these guys.
Beliefonomics is the most dismal element of the dismal science. Practitioners advance outlooks based upon conjecture, fantasy and hope, qualifying themselves on the basis of whom they know, not what they know; exhibit an abundance of attitude, false modesty, and condescension, but a dearth of facts; commonly support their assertions with a discussion ending “because”; and do not respond well to challenges.Don't ask me what a spud is, other than a potato...
...
And what are producers saying in their most recent Investor Presentations…?
• Chesapeake states its Haynesville shale drilling and completion costs have decline 23% since 2015, and that longer laterals have resulted a 63% increase in 160-day cumulative well production
• In the Eagle Ford, Chesapeake projects a 25% to 50% rate of return from its 2016 development program and states, “current returns… at $45/bbl oil out compete 2014 at $80/bb oil” •Comstock, also a Haynesville producer, indicates that “new wells have 24% to 48% rates of return at natural gas prices of $2.00 to $2.50/mcf”
• Whiting Petroleum claims a “55% IRR at $50/bbl NYMEX” on its Bakken production
• Pioneer Resources, a large Permian producer, is realizing 10% to 35% improvements in well productivity due to innovations in completion technologies
• EOG Resources reports a 29% year-on-year decline in overall lease operating expenses. It also states that well completion costs, since 2014, have declined 42% in the Permian, 15% in the Eagle Ford, and 30% in the Bakken. Finally and regarding drilling, spud to TD times have declined 43% to 19 days in the Permian since 2014, 45% to 8 days since 2012 in the Eagle Ford, and 59% to 9 days in the Bakken, also since 2012.
• EOG also reports its after-tax rate of return at $40/bbl oil is between 15% and 30% in the Bakken core, Permian-Delaware, and Eagle Ford.
• EOG states it has an inventory of more than 12,000 drilling locations
• Anadarko Petroleum indicates that DJ-Niobrara and Permian well costs have been halved since 2013 and 2014, respectively.
• Devon indicates: its drilling and completion costs fell 40%, and its lease operating expenses have declined 25% since 2014; that, at $50/bbl oil and $2.50/MMBtu natural gas, it generates internal rates of returns exceeding 20% in the Rockies, Eagle Ford, Oklahoma Stack and Permian; and that it has more than 13,000 remaining drilling locations
• Cabot Oil & Gas says its drill times, since 2014, declined from 16.9 days 9.4 days in the Marcellus, and from 15 to 8 days in the Eagle Ford, supporting a halving of its drilling costs.
• Range Resources indicates that at current natural gas strip prices, it can drill and realize rates of returns across the Marcellus ranging from 20% to 40%.
If you want to “believe” in something; believe in that.
CA opens Affordable Care Act door to unlawful immigrants
And why would the illegal immigrants want to limit themselves to the meager, terrible choices offered by Obamacare? It's terrible!
State Democrats forged ahead with legislation designed to fill out Covered California’s enrollment ranks with unlawful and undocumented immigrants.Illegals: Stay underground. Pay with cash. You're better off.
Following the state Senate, the Assembly has “passed a measure that would remove a critical barrier to Covered California and allow all Californians to access the state health insurance marketplace, regardless of immigration status,” as State of Reform noted. The legislation, introduced as Senate Bill 10 by state Sen. Ricardo Lara, D-Bell Gardens, “would authorize the state to apply for a federal waiver that would allow undocumented mmigrants to buy unsubsidized health coverage through Covered California.”

Fossil Fuel Divestment Might Focus On Tobacco Investments
You see? Ideology uber Alles! Until finally you just can't do it anymore. What complete morons. But, you have to give them credit when they realize their own stupid mistakes. Of course, the article only says they "might". But in the Leftist world "might" means they will.
Yet another reason to shut down these "philanthropic" groups.
The re-examination of CalPERS’ investment strategy with respect to tobacco stocks has been driven by a report of an outside consultant that concludes the fund has lost as much as $3 billion in net investment gains between 2000 and 2014 by not investing in them. For a fund that today has about $300 billion in assets, a $3 billion loss of investment income is meaningful (1%).And who was it that started all of this? Why one of the institutions was the Rockefeller Fund Brothers. You know the Rockefellers, right? The family that made their fortune as CAPITALISTS?
Yet another reason to shut down these "philanthropic" groups.

The Coming California Gulag: Landmark California bill would allow prosecution of climate-change skeptics
I say the word Gulg and no one will notice. Until it's too late. What a lost country we have become. Honestly and truly, CA should be kicked out of the Union.
A landmark California bill gaining steam would make it illegal to engage in climate-change dissent, clearing the way for lawsuits against fossil-fuel companies, think-tanks and others that have “deceived or misled the public on the risks of climate change.”
The first-of-its-kind legislation — Senate Bill 1161, or the California Climate Science Truth and Accountability Act of 2016 — is scheduled for floor action Thursday after clearing Senate committees in April and May.
The measure would allow state and local prosecutors to pursue claims against climate-change skepticism as a violation of the state’s Unfair Competition Law [UCL], as well as extend the four-year statute of limitations for such claims retroactively to Jan. 1, 2021.
“This bill explicitly authorizes district attorneys and the Attorney General to pursue UCL claims alleging that a business or organization has directly or indirectly engaged in unfair competition with respect to scientific evidence regarding the existence, extent, or current or future impacts of anthropogenic induced climate change,” says the state Senate Rules Committee’s floor analysis.
