More students, young Americans turn to paganism

Who couldn't see this coming?

As millennials continue to leave traditional Christian religions, interest in Wiccan and pagan practices have seen increased interest in recent years, a trend also spotted among young people and on college campuses.

Pagan or Wiccan student groups are present on a number of college campuses — both secular and religious — across the nation. The growing normalization of such practices, albeit still a minority, corresponds with the decline in Christian believers, some observers note.

A recent report in Market Watch headlined “Why millennials are ditching religion for witchcraft and astrology” argues as much, for example.
All you have to do is go to the Bible and see what it says.  For instance, Jesus said:
Matthew 12:43-45 New International Version (NIV) 43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
I've always thought there might be a bigger context to this (which Jesus points out).  For instance, if a whole COUNTRY whose roots were strongly Christian should reject Christ's teachings, what would happen?  Evil, which was summarily "kicked" out of say, America, would return to the "house" it left.  And bring his friends along.

We see this played out here and in other former strong Christian countries that have or are rejecting Christ.  And we find the country is now worse that before the establishment of Christianity there.

This situation concerns me and makes me wonder how long and how bad will it get.

Google Docs? THEY ARE WATCHING YOU

Let's say you just caught your spouse in a compromising situation.  You leave him or her and decide, in your worst of worst times, to write him/her a scathing letter on Google Docs.  Maybe you even got a little extreme in what you might do to get back.

Within an hour of hitting "save" there's a knock on your door.

It's the police.  They received a notice from Google that you were planning a possible terrorist act.  Of course, you planned no such thing. Did Google "see" you googling how to make a bomb?  Were you searching for theaters where firearms were banned?

As the police snap the metal bracelets on your wrists they inform you that you were writing out your plans on Google Docs.

Sound like fantasy?  THINK AGAIN.
In response to some of these reports [of being locked out of Google Docs], a Google employee tweeted that the team handling Google Docs was looking into the matter. Later Tuesday, Google said in a statement that it had "made a code push that incorrectly flagged a small percentage of Google Docs as abusive, which caused those documents to be automatically blocked. A fix is in place and all users should have full access to their docs."

Although the error appeared to be a technical glitch, the fact that Google is capable of identifying "bad" Google Docs at all is a reminder: Much of what you upload, receive or type to Google is monitored.
That's why I never use Google Docs.  What I type is none of their business.  And what you say CAN be used against you even if none of it is true.

Gerald jerked his body around and up - such it is when your sort of lying on your side...but yet almost angled with your front pointed sort of "up", I guess.

He didn't dare inhale.  The gum would most certainly get sucked into a lung or something.

He felt pretty stupid. It was 30 years ago when he learned his first lesson.  He was lying, shoulders and back pressed against the floor of the oval living room rug.  A TV commercial had just snapped on and his eyes wandered from the black and white TV to the ceiling.  5 year olds didn't particularly enjoy the pathetic interruptions commercials made in the flow of a cartoon.

He had a nickel in his mouth.  And within 0.0001 seconds....

Gerald swallowed it.

Well, maybe saying he "swallowed it" was too loose a phrase.  It wasn't as if he gulped it down like a pill. No.  It was more like his tongue relaxed and swoosh!  down to the gullet the nickel went.

But this time...this time 30 years later - it was gum.  And 30 years of honing his reflexes (not like he trained everyday for this very day) he untwisted his body sat up and ... saved his life.

Step 3. KILL THEM: Canada now investigates 'climate denial'

So you will now be chased to the ends of the earth if you think thoughts or express beliefs that differ from The State.

Step one:  You will be fined
Step Two:  You will be jailed
Step Three:  You will be killed

If you don't think this will happen, you are living in a fantasy world  This is what we have become. When will we have to seek refuge in Asia to escape the sick pathetic disaster that is steamrolling our way?
As someone who has written extensively on climate change for a decade, my view is that all of this is madness. We are entering into dangerous territory, a fundamental attack on free speech.

If we’re going to use agencies of the federal government to investigate and even prosecute “climate deniers”, for making “false and misleading claims” then let’s damn well do the same for “climate alarmists”, who do the same thing all the time.

I read and hear politicians making “false and misleading claims” about climate change almost daily, particularly with regard to what federal and provincial carbon pricing schemes will actually accomplish, as opposed to what our governments are claiming they will accomplish.

But the way to decide these issues is through public debate, not running to an agency of the federal government to shut up people we disagree with, particularly a government that itself makes false and misleading claims about man-made climate change all the time.
The State is the biggest liar of all.  And we want them to judge our ideas and thoughts?

All this begs the question: What Anti-State thoughts will they go after next?

Target Alarms Hand Baskets in Response to Increased Theft Following Plastic Bag Ban

This isn't a recent article.  But, I've posted articles on some of the consequences of plastic bag bans. Now people are stealing the little hand baskets.

The retailer has recently put black alarms on its plastic carry-alls for small items and customers can no longer take them outside of the store.

On my regular post-gym Target run, I was told the move was made because the hand baskets have been disappearing since California's plastic bag ban went into effect.

The alarms are designed to sound off at the store's doorway, just like those sensors often attached to clothes to stop shoplifting.

Others in the biz of helping you pick up what you need also say entirely too many people who don't want to buy bags, and aren't bringing along their own, are picking up their hand baskets and keeping them.

The lost and wandering SPLC

I started reading this article and was completely aghast.  A city is considered a "refuge of hate"?

Why?  How?

And this is the part that completely blew me away:
The town had previously contested the claim, but the SPLC had stood by its marking the Amanas on the "hate map." Why? The organization claimed "it had confirmation that a group of individuals met sometime in September 2016 at a restaurant in the Amanas."

You read that right.  They ate at a restaurant and BAM! the city is hate-filled.

And what does this really say about the SPLC?

This sort of action says they are an insignificant, lost, irrelevant organization which has completely lost its perspective on what true hate is.

First Grader Sent to Office, Investigated, for ‘Pronoun Mishap’

If this is what the future looks like, it means we're on the road to the end of Free Speech in the USA.

England said the first grader was investigated by the principal to determine whether or not she had bullied the transgender child by calling him by his original name. After about an hour it was determined the little girl made an honest mistake and she was not punished or reprimanded.

But she was terribly traumatized by the incident, England said.

“The daughter came home from school upset and crying — saying, ‘Mommy, I got in trouble at school today,’” England told me.

The little girl’s mother, who asked not to be identified, immediately contacted the school to find out what had happened.

“She was told that whenever there is a pronoun mishap with this biological boy who now claims to be a girl — the school must investigate,” England said.

Capitol Resource Institute provided me with a letter the mother wrote — expressing her extreme concern over how the situation was handled.

“I stressed over and over with the principal that I am all for protecting the rights of (the transgender child), but my children have rights as well,” the parent wrote. “It makes me sad that my daughter felt like she was punished for trying to be kind to the kid.”
