Who is the Enemy? Who REALLY is the Enemy? I

I recall the story a friend told me.  It was about his father.  His father was a General Manager of a General Motors assembly plant located in Cuba.  He was well thought of by the assembly line workers.

And then Fidel Castro took over.

A squad of soldiers walked into the plant and confronted the manager.  The manager was told that they now worked for the State.

The manager said...."No.  I will not work for the State."

Well, word got out and the assembly line workers found out.  If Mr. Alvares wasn't going to work, we won't either, they said.  They dropped their tools and quit.

The leader of the Communist soldiers tried to convince Mr. Alvares about how good Castro was.  That Castro was for the people.  He begged Mr. Alvares to please tell the workers to go back to work.

Mr. Alvares refused.

I don't recall how it was all resolved.  But that is beside the point.

The point is that there was an enemy.  And Mr. Alvares was not him.

Batista was not the enemy.  But for many in Cuba, there was no other enemy, except for Batista.

The epilogue to the story is that the Leader of the squadron of devout Communist soldiers, who pleaded with Mr. Alvares to tell the workers to get back to work, later became disillusioned with Castro.

He was later arrested and executed.

He discovered who the real enemy was.

But that is very very difficult to see when there are not many choices.  In fact, there is only a binary choice:

1) Live under Batista
2) Live under Castro

Is this really a choice?

We have entered the era STASI..

One day in September 1987, the phone rang at the headquarters of the Volkspolizei, East Germany's police force, in the town of Döbeln, not far from Dresden. On the other end of the line was the voice of an unknown man.

"Good evening. I have some information for you. Grab a pen!"

"I'm listening."

"Ms. Marianne Schneider is traveling on Wednesday, Sept. 14, to West Berlin for a visit. She doesn't intend to return."
"And who are you?"

Silence.

"You would like to remain anonymous?"

"Yes."

"What is the basis for your information?"

"She said so, to her closest friends."

Then, the mysterious caller hung up. And Marianne Schneider* had a problem. Officials immediately revoked her travel permit and began monitoring her phone and mail in addition to questioning her neighbors and friends.
This is a quote from Spiegel  International.  A nation, Communist-ruled East Germany,  surveilled by the Stasi Police and their lackey informers where multiple tens thousands well over 150,000 of them watched neighbors and snitched on the stupidest and inane stuff.  And all this information was written down and meticulously tracked, building dossiers on normal individuals.

I recall following the slow exposure of all of this.  The archives are available to anyone that wants to go back and see who snitched on you.  We all thought it was absolutely appalling.  We all shook our heads with disapproval.  We all said "this is what happens in a Totalitarian State."

And we looked at each other nodding in agreement saying "yes!  That's right! This is what happens."
Hedwig Richter, a professor at the University of Greifswald, speaks of a "stunning reporting machinery." Wide swaths of society were a part of it, she says. "There were institutionalized structures outside of the Stasi that produced daily and weekly reports." Whether in city hall, at the steel factory or inside the local farming collective: "Everyone who had a position with some measure of responsibility filed reports" for the state, Richter says.

Since the 1989 collapse of the communist regime, thousands of these documents have been gathering dust in the archives of Eastern German states, in the former headquarters of former East German political parties and in the basements of universities and agencies. Now, though, they are being systematically analyzed by historians and have thus far revealed the degree to which permanent surveillance was a significant part of everyday life in East Germany. Eavesdropping and informing on neighbors and colleagues was completely normal for many -- even without pressure from the Stasi and its notorious leader Erich Mielke
We bowed our heads and gently whispered a prayer thanking God we lived in a nation where this sort of thing would never happen.  And we hoped the perpetrators of this horrendous crossing of the liberties of people either had a deep change of heart or are burning in the fires of Hell.

And yet, here we are.  And it is happening.  People marching in Goose Step and swinging their right hand out high and pledging their fielty to The State.

They keep a look out for violators of the 6 foot rule.

Not wearing a mask?

You went outside and visited a neighbor?

YOU MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

So you pick up the phone, requesting anonymity and you rat on your neighbor.  But one day, you will be exposed for the Totalitarian Government sycophants you are.

You are not the friend of free society.  You are the enemy.  Just like the Patriotic Communist Germans who called the Secret Police to rat on their closest friends.

I think what alarms me is how easy it was for people to become Emotionally Invested in this and think they are on the Side of Right, filled with zeal and righteousness.  Or...are there maybe some who are being paid to rat on their friends and neighbors?  If not here in the USA, possibly other places?

And that would be a hearty....YES!!
If your disposable income is a little lacking then there's one way to boost your earnings by £1,000. By becoming an anonymous informant for the police you will be handsomely rewarded - but only if it turns out to be correct, and leads to an arrest, charge or a conviction.

It's perfectly safe to do, as the identity of the person who puts the call in is kept safe by Crimestoppers, who then pass the information on to the police independently.

According to The Coventry Telegraph the process allows people to fight crime without being exposed to any danger or possible retaliation.

The rewards can even be picked up at banks without showing any personal ID.

But back to exposing these traitors....the exposure has already started:
A spree of social media posts this week warn that St. Louis County released the information it got from people who reported businesses in violation of the stay-at-home order.

The document, released in response to a Sunshine Law request, included names and contact information of the people making the reports. In their messages, some asked for anonymity.

Posts and comments in response to the document invited retaliation against the people who utilized the county’s inbox for tips about non-essential businesses that stayed open.

The I-Team’s PJ Randhawa talked with a woman whose tip was among those released. Patricia asked that we not use her last name, because she fears what someone might do with the information in the document.

We have entered the era STASI.....and no one seems to care.

Darkness to Light.

Ideological Purity

Sam Spencer had worked as a newspaper reporter/commentator for 35 years.  He started out in high school as the editor of the school newspaper, then in college was on the team that put together the college newspaper.  After getting his masters in Journalism and Art Communications, he landed a sweet position as assistant editor of a major metropolitan newspaper.

But those were the good old days.  These were now the really tough days.  The internet completely changed things.  He lost his job as editor of the New York Central Newspaper when it finally closed its doors after being in existence since the founding of the country.  He worked briefly for a small Midwestern newspaper in Iowa.  But no one was reading newspapers anymore.  After 6 months, they closed their doors and he was let go.

Sam had always been a Left-of-Center sort of guy.  But as his main sources of income one-by-one started dying off, he turned more and more bitter.  How can the government stand by and watch what was going on?  Why did it have to be left up to him to find a secure job?  And what about the thousands and thousands of other journalists and typesetters and who knows who else that were now sitting on their collective butts at home…waiting…for what?

Yes, Sam had decided the government needed to get more involved in the day-to-day actions and decisions that were being left to companies.  Why did it always seem their answer to anything was to fire people?  There HAD to be a better answer.

Sam realized his days were coming to a close.  He was in his early 60s.  No job. Just enough savings to last him until he maybe reached early retirement.

Sam then made a decision that would change his life.  He finally, by 2015, stepped into the Internet Age.

He started a blog.

And in his blog he expounded on all of the ideas that he thought should be done to save the country.  More welfare for the people.  Free medical care for everyone.  The State governments should have to be accountable, not to the people but to the Federal Government. In essence, there really would not be any state governments.  It would all be National.

And Sam discovered something about his writing style.

He was eloquent.  And the more his writings veered to the left, the more readers he garnered.  But even with thousands of readers a day his website was still barely able to help him make ends meet.

He was close to deciding to call it quits and just retire when he got the fateful email.

“Sam, our consortium are interested in your blog and would like to help you take it up a notch.  Reply back ASAP and let’s see if we can help you out.”

It was signed Jeffrey Simmons and his title was Strategic Aid.

What the hell was this?  He was hopeful and at the same time cynical.  How could he not be?  But what did he have to lose?  He replied and the two set up a meeting. “The Consortium”, whatever that was, bought him round trip tickets to meet them in San Francisco.
….
After the meeting in the Starbucks, the several dapperly dressed men left with Sam a little stunned.  A monthly salary equal to what he made all last year.  A nice office overlooking the Bay, an apartment just a block away.  He could pick his own staff.  And the content was up to him but…

And that was the hardest part.  But… he would receive guidance as to what to write about. And positively no onewas to know about The Consortium.

Guidance?  What did that really mean?  They assured him that he would have what amounted to complete control.  They had been following his blog for quite some time and knew he was on the right track and believed in the same centralized governmental control that they wanted to see happen in America.

Sam stared at the contract, his eyes skipping from one part to another.  There were a few issues about control, but these guys really, truly believed in him.  There was little disagreement, right?  Ideas that the people of America couldn’t be relied to make the right decisions.  Look where we were. 100 million out of work with no upturn in the economy in sight.  Tens of trillions of dollars in government debt.  And these clowns were voted into office?

Coffee shops are not quiet places for contemplation.  The coffee grinder was loud.  “Sam! Grande Latte!” the barista shouted as he placed the cup on the counter.  Dishes and cups clinking and washed.  People talking – it wasn't a library.

But Sam didn’t hear any of it. His ship had finally come in.  He took a deep breath and signed the contract.

Sam watched the live feed online with his staff.  He did it.  He really, really did it!  They watched as the gavel went down for the last California Assembly session.  The direct elections of Assemblymen had ended.  From that point on, the state congressmen and senators would be appointed by the Federal Government.

California was the first to acquiesce.  One-by-one, all over the nation, the symbolic gavel had been slammed for the last time.  Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oregon, Washington State, on and on and on.  The last hold outs were the diehard Red States of Texas, Louisiana, South Carolina, and Tennessee.  But by then the vast majority of the states had turned over their power to the National Government.  The threat of force and, in some cases, the show of force convinced them to fall in line. Since these hold out states weren’t all contiguous, it was impossible for them to truly fight back with a united front.

Sam smiled.  The really silly part was the constant references to the US Constitution as if it mattered anymore.  Since the early twentieth century, the American people had wandered cluelessly, aimlessly like lost puppies away from the document, rendering the Constitution meaningless and powerless.

The staff let out a cheer.  History had been made.

“Sam, that’s it!”  Said Weaver, his right hand man. He owed a lot of his success to Weaver.  Especially, when Sam and The Consortium were at logger heads.  Weaver would step in and talk him down and help him organize to get the stories out.  But Weaver wasn’t a good journalist, he hated to say. But he had other talents that made him so invaluable.  In some ways, Weaver was even more of a believer in Elite causes than he was.  “I was born this way” is what he always said.

Sam retreated to his office just as his desk phone rang.

“Hello, Sam Spencer here.”

“Sam.  Have you been watching?”

It was Jeffrey Simmons, the Strategic Aid who had first contacted him with the fateful email.

“Jeff, good to hear from you.” Sam leaned back in his chair and ran his free hand through his thinning grey hair. He sort of chuckled, but it was more of a sigh than a chuckle.  “Yeah.  We did it.”

“And it was all because of you.  You and your staff and the three million hits a day to your website.”

“Well, yes, but your ‘guidance’ helped.”  Sam emphasized the word “guidance”.  What he really meant was the guidance was more “you shall say this” than “you should say this.”

Sam continued. “We had our disagreements over the years, but in the end it all worked out.”

Jeff laughed.  “Yes, well it was for the team, so to speak, right?  But it was your wordsmithing that changed the hearts of the people. And for that The Consortium will be forever thankful.”

There was a slight silence.

“But, Sam, this is really only the beginning.”

“Of course, I agree.  We have more to say.  There are still many out there who disagree.  We have to continue to denigrate them to the ash heap of rewritten history.  We’ll make sure they’re marginalized. Make no mistake about it.”

“Sam, that’s good to hear.  There can be no disagreement with The Consortium.”

“Of course, it will be done.”

“Thanks, Sam.  We’ll talk again soon.”

No sooner had Sam hung up the phone, it rang again.  He immediately picked it up. “Hello, Sam Spencer speaking.”

“Sam,” the person on the phone quickly said, “it’s Senator Larry Singleton.”

Sam knew this man.  He was one of the most outspoken people against what had become to be called “The Relinquish.”

“Mr. Singleton,” Sam didn’t even try to call him Senator.  That title was done away with. The senator was now just a public citizen.  Even the word “private citizen” was improper.  In fact, not only improper to say it, it was unlawful to say it. There was nothing private anymore.  All was the State.

“Sam.  You’ve got to listen to me.” Sam caught something.  Was it fear?  Was it desperation?

“Larry, go ahead.  I’m listening.”

“Uh…Sam -” He paused.  Did he move away from the phone?  He came back. “-Sam, something’s going on.”

Sam caught something odd in his voice.  Why the hell did he even call me?  After all, he was “the enemy”.  “Larry, what the hell do you mean?  Why are you calling me?  Can I mention this is all a little strange?”

“Listen, you’re a decent man.  I know in my heart you really are.”

“Larry, it’s over.  Don’t you have a wife and daughter?  Can’t you talk to them?”

There was another pause.  He realized finally that Larry was in transit.  He wasn’t running.  He was walking fast through the streets. He could hear cars pass by and a siren of some sort.

“Sam, you have no idea what you are a part of.  You don’t realize what you’ve unleashed.”

Sam smiled inwardly.  This sounded almost like the rantings of someone about to really lose it. "Larry, you need to go home.  Take a pill or something.”

“Sam.  I – I can’t go home.”

Sam stopped.  What was he saying? “You mean your wife is mad at you?  Did she kick you out?”

“No!  No that is NOT what I mean.” Again he moved away from the phone.  Then he came back. “Someone is after me.  I mean some people are after me.”

“Holy crap, Larry.  Call the cops!”

“That’s just it.  It’s the police that are after me.”

This was just getting stranger. “Talk to me.  What did you do?”  Larry Singleton may have been the enemy, but he was honest as the day was long.  In fact, 20 years ago he might have even voted for the guy.  Sam was starting to smell a story.

“My wife called me saying they were waiting for me to get home.  They told her I was being arrested for Crimes Against the State.”

Sam was still confused as to why the police would do such a thing.  “Crimes against what?  What the hell are you talking about?”

“Sam, this is ALL YOUR FAULT!”

“Larry, this isn’t the Soviet Union.  This is America.”

“NO IT’S NOT!”  Was he sobbing?  “They’re rounding us up.”

“Who?  Who is rounding up who?”

“The Consortium.”

Sam went silent. No one, not a single soul knew about The Consortium. How did he know about them?

“Sam?  Are you still there?  I was your Straw Man.  Did you hear me?  I WAS YOUR STRAW MAN!”

Sam’s head started spinning.  This was getting stranger by the second. His voice dropped down several decibels. “Are you telling me you had a contract with The Consortium?”

“Hell yes, I did!  It was all a set up.  You mean you didn’t know?  The Consortium offered me guidance-“

There was that fucking word again.  Guidance.

“ – and they in turn supplied you with retorts.  Y  - you mean you didn’t know this? How the hell could you not know this?  Holy shit!  You were played! “

Sam’s voice got weaker.  “Are there others? I mean, others like you that they are going after?”

“Yes, yes.  I know of at least one more, uh,  Senator Lakeland, I think.”

Sam was stunned hearing this.  “Senator Lakeland?  Are you serious?  The guy said he would take up arms before he’d let ‘The Relinquish’ happen.”

“Well...? Did he?”

Sam knew the answer to that.  Lakeland didn’t.  And never was going to.  It was easy to conclude Lakeland had a contract with The Consortium, too.

“Sam, they promised me the moon!  I was going to have a whole department to run.  I was going to make more money than I could have ever made as a senator.  Now they want to arrest me and who knows what. Maybe send me to a –“

“- gulag.” Sam finished the sentence with Larry.

“Hey, listen.  Maybe we could meet and discuss - “

Then there was nothing but a dialtone.

As he stared at the dead phone he heard loud voices out in the bullpen.   He looked up just as Weaver stuck his head in his office. “Boss.  There are some police here that keep asking for you - .”

The police didn’t wait for Sam to come out.  Three large uniformed officers pushed through.

“Samuel Spencer, you are hereby being placed under arrest for Crimes Against The State.”

“So, you going to read me my rights?” Sam dryly asked.

“Rights?  What rights?”  One of the policemen replied just as dryly.

As they were handcuffing him, Weaver pushed through. “Sam! What’s going on?  Why are they here?”

Sam looked up at Weaver touched by the concern.  “Weaver, take over.  Try to find a good online journalist to help you out.  I just hope I can get back here to work with you again.  I don’t know what-“

They didn’t let him finish his sentence, shoving him out the door.
The whole place went silent.  All the celebrating stopped. Weaver stood looking on as the police disappeared with Sam out the main door.

Then the Sam’s phone rang.  Weaver, still standing next to Sam’s desk, answered it.

“Hello, Sam Spencer’s office, Weaver here.”

“Weaver.  It’s Jeff.”

Weaver smiled. “Jeff. Thanks for calling.”

“Hey no problem.  So, I take it the police were there?”

“Yes.  Sam was just now taken away.”

Jeff sighed.  “Good.  What a shame.  But now you’re in charge.  We have high hopes for you.”

Weaver smiled broadly.  “Don’t worry, Jeff.  I won’t let you and The Consortium down.”

“That’s good to hear.  Such a shame we had to let Jeff go.”

Weaver nodded in agreement. “ Yes.  It’ll be tough to find a ghost writer to fill in, but we’ll find one.  No one could write like Sam.  He really was able to reel them in and make the case for the cause.”

“Yes, I agree, but…”  Jeff sighed.  “he lacked a certain quality.  He didn’t have the ideological purity we really needed.”

Weaver again agreed.  “Yes, that is for sure.  But you certainly won’t have that problem with me.  I was born this way.”  He laughed.

Jeff laughed, too.  “Fine.  That’s fine.  We’ll talk again soon and offer more…guidance.”

Weaver smiled again. “I look forward to it.”

They hung up.

Dr.SHIVA: The Elites Are FULLY Prepared For Revolution! ARE YOU?

Dr. Shiva is probably one of the smartest people to have ever walked this Earth. The inventor of email is molding and shaping a cadre of like-minded people to....think differently. For sure, the idea of cycles once grapsed, is a game changer.  That happened to me when I discovered the Real Estate Cycle.

The youtube video is worth the time to watch.  The upshot:

The extreme Left ideas we are seeing are being pushed to the forefront to not just cause chaos but to actully push us to civil war or possibly even world war.

Why?  Because they think this will keep the inevitable from happening.  This is why I had an earllier post entitled: Who is the enemy?  Who REALLY is the enemy?

This isn't a long video and is well worth the watch.

Toward Religious persecution in the USA

The military has been in the forefront of many cultural changes.  But this is not because it was organic (bottom up).  But because it was decreed from the top down.  This has been good for the military.  For instance, integration of the military started early on. Smoking now is considered a no-no.  Now the military is pro-gay.

And this is an important distinction.  Not just open to gays, but PRO-GAY. And the group that suffers because of this?  Anyone who disagrees.  And it isn't just a case of, well, we will agree to disagree.  But true to form, those that disagree have become the ENEMY.

And what group is more likely to disagree?  Most likely Christians, in general.  But I think most Christians would agree with me that even though they have a personal belief that homosexuality is wrong, it doesn't mean we can't love them, be friends with them and deal with them as we would deal with any other fellow sinner in this world.  There is nothing in Christian doctrine that says we can't dine with them, enjoy their company or anything.  In fact, we are given the example of Christ to be our guidepost on this.

But we're talking about the military here.  And it was quite clear to me that there would be a clash of ideas - and I'm not even talking about whether or not gays should or should not be allowed in the military.  At the time I just couldn't figure out how to verbalize what I just said.  But clash is a good word to use here.  But this isn't just any clash.  This is one where the military has now SOUGHT OUT the clash.

Which brings us to where we are.
There have been several incidents that hint at a disturbing policy change within the Pentagon. They include a war games scenario in which evangelical Christian groups were identified as threats, the 2009 Homeland Security memo that warned evangelicals and veterans may be threats to national security, a West Point study linking pro-life advocates to terrorism (while omitting eco-terrorists), and many others. The length of LTC Rich’s 14-page email suggests that it represents a significant service-wide policy. Why would an officer draft such an extensive document, if he did not believe that it represented the Army’s views and would help him earn promotion? If Rich does not share the view that mainstream Christian groups are extremists, then he should have adhered to the Army’s sixth core value, integrity, and its seventh core value, personal courage, and resisted broadcasting that view to his subordinates.

Next stop: Permitted and State sanctioned bigotry.  After that, outright exclusion.  After that, violence.  Finally, persecution.

Treasury takes actions to deter inversions

I'm still not back to full speed right now.  Hopefully, in within the next month I'll be back.

First of all, the title of the article is disgusting.  This is like the reporter is on the side of the US Government on this.

I know this isn't the first time the Federal Government has put up road blocks to make it harder for corporations to locate overseas.  Apparently, it hasn't worked.  And this won't work either.

So, this is how it starts.  They put up barriers to prevent companies from leaving the country.  In the meantime, citizens who want to renounce their citizenship have seen the "fee" to do so go from free to $2,350.  Who knows what will be next to prevent people and businesses from leaving the country?

Once the Mexican-US boarder trails are used to flee the US instead of enter America in search of a better life....the border fence WILL be built.

What shall we call this?  The American IRONIC IRON CURTAIN?

Someone come up with a sarcastic, ignoble term to describe a border fence that will be used to keep US citizens from fleeing to a better life.  The term should show the stupidity of the US Government and the bitterness and irony of the situation.

I just can't believe what we have become.  It's startling.  It's despicable.  The enemy, the Soviet Union that we are credited with defeating...we are transforming into THEM!

State lacks doctors to meet demand of national healthcare law

And yet again, CA is CA's worst enemy.
"We're going to be mandating that every single person in this state have insurance," said state Sen. Ed Hernandez (D-West Covina), chairman of the Senate Health Committee and leader of the effort to expand professional boundaries. "What good is it if they are going to have a health insurance card but no access to doctors?"

Hernandez's proposed changes, which would dramatically shake up the medical establishment in California, have set off a turf war with physicians that could contribute to the success or failure of the federal Affordable Care Act in California.

Doctors say giving non-physicians more authority and autonomy could jeopardize patient safety. It could also drive up costs, because those workers, who have less medical education and training, tend to order more tests and prescribe more antibiotics, they said.
I recommend you go back and read my blog on Obamacare that I wrote shortly before Obama was re-elected.  My timing is off but the idea was to list the consequences of Obamacare and hang a date on when it would occur.
The federal government relies more on nurse practitioners and physician assistants to treat patients. But this doesn’t make the situation better. More wedges are being driven deeper between the doctor and his patient in doing this.

My first thought was "How could this happen?" So, I did a little more digging and this is what I found.
March 3, 2011 (3:49pm) – I received this email response from the LT: “Congratulations! You are now a licensed physician with the State of California. You can access your license number off our web site. It was nice working with you.”

And that’s how I became a licensed physician in the state of California. Of course, the clinical job I was interested in in 2008 — for which I’d originally applied for a CA license — is now long gone, life has moved on, and I just bought a house on the beach in South Carolina.

So if you live in California and are having a hard time finding a doctor, perhaps it’s because physicians like me are being effectively prevented from working in your state by its own medical board? I bet you hadn’t thought of that.
Here is the bar graph included with the article:

THIS IS WHY!  So, CA...are you going to do something about it??  Or will you guys just accept second rate care?

The Press The Media

I TOLD YOU!  Back a few months ago.

Slowly, the Mainstream Media is learning that the O'Bama White House is NOT their friend but their ENEMY.  All this covering for blatant hypocrisy, stupidity, incompetency was for what?

Not the O'Bama Administration has turned on the Press and guess what?

First come the teeth of the Mainstream Media.

Then come the long knives of the Mainstream Media.

You are witnessing the end of the O'Bama Administration.  Or at the very least, the end of the Love Fest.  Finally, we'll get back to real news gathering.  Hopefully, the Investigative Reporter will be reborn.
Agencies where the AP so far has identified secret addresses, including the Labor Department and HHS, said maintaining non-public email accounts allows senior officials to keep separate their internal messages with agency employees from emails they exchange with the public. They also said public and non-public accounts are always searched in response to official requests and the records are provided as necessary.

The AP couldn't independently verify the practice. It searched hundreds of pages of government emails previously released under the open records law and found only one instance of a published email with a secret address: an email from Labor Department spokesman Carl Fillichio to 34 coworkers in 2010 was turned over to an advocacy group, Americans for Limited Government. It included as one recipient the non-public address for Seth D. Harris, currently the acting labor secretary, who maintains at least three separate email accounts.

Google can't find any reference on the Internet to the secret address for HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Congressional oversight committees told the AP they were unfamiliar with the non-public government addresses identified so far by the AP.

Ten agencies have not yet turned over lists of email addresses, including the Environmental Protection Agency; the Pentagon; and the departments of Veterans Affairs, Transportation, Treasury, Justice, Housing and Urban Development, Homeland Security, Commerce and Agriculture. All have said they are working on a response to the AP.
There is only use for "secret" emails: corruption.
