Texas, California lead nation in forfeitures

If there is one area we need to change it's asset forfeitures.  If you are found to have ANY amount of money on you and maybe a nice car ( or even not a nice car) the government can just simply declare it ill-gotten gains through drugs and take them from you.  From that point on, you have to prove you are NOT a drug dealer or user (having to prove a negative).  Chances are you will NEVER see your money or belongings again.

These laws need to change.  Quickly.
